With live music, film screenings, performances and workshops, the Tango Rojo Festival promises plenty of events to keep fans of the fiery Latin dance happy. There’s tango cabaret to look forward to, as well as a live music concert from Juan Maria Solare and a special tribute to tango master Astor Piazzolla.
Milongas
A milonga will take place every day of the Tango Rojo festival, where there’s the chance for experienced tango dancers to get involved with the performances and for everyone to see some world class acts. Expect to see a range of different dancing styles and techniques on show, as well as DJ sets and live music.
Workshops
Tango enthusiasts can get to grips with new techniques at a series of dancing workshops during the festival, with tutorials on the Canyengue and Milonguero styles. One highlight at the Tango Rojo Festival is bound to be the musicality workshop held by pianist and composer Juan Maria Solare, which aims to develop your musical interpretation skills.
The Tango Rojo Festival runs from Wednesday 18th May – Sunday 22nd May 2011 at Latvian House, Queensway.
A full festival pass costs £185.00, while tickets for individual events vary. For the full programme of events and to book tickets in advance, click on the link below.
