LOKANDES is the combination of two words: ‘Crazy’ and ‘Andes’ which represents the intention of their music – crazy music from the Andes -. This project was started in London, during December 2007, by Carlos Saldaña “Kanti Qena” and Alx Alfaro. This project aims to create Alternative music with roots from traditional Andean music. LOKANDES entered its second phase completing the band line up with musicians from different parts of the world and joined on stage with some of the best peruvian musicians
based in London to complete an special line up.
LOKANDES aims to bring its audiences original music with socially conscious lyrics, at
the same time bringing awareness to Latin-American cultures playing a red hot fusion of Afro-Andean and Latin beats with other contemporary music styles such as Funk, Latin, Reggae, Jazz, cumbia, etc.. Taking the melodies and energy of Andean music and bringing it up to date.
The band will playing their new album “Positive Energy” on this special night plus new songs never released.
