Enrique Iglesias steamed up The O2 arena in London at the end of last year with a dramatic, steamy set in which one fan ended up getting the kiss-of-(her) life. Now, after announcing a series of tour dates, Enrique will return to The O2 on Friday 15 May to give fans what they have been waiting for.
This Latin heartthrob has a reputation for throwing his all into live shows, and anyone who saw his last tour at the end of 2007 can expect an even more exciting show this time around.
Over the last decade, Enrique has carved a place for himself in the hearts of music fans across the globe. In the UK alone the Madrid-born and Miami-raised star has sold 2.2 million albums and 1.6m singles. With worldwide album sales totaling over 41 million, Enrique is not only one of the biggest-selling Spanish artists of all time but an international superstar in his own right.
When his Greatest Hits was already selling over 450,000 copies in the UK, Enrique made history last year when he broke the record for the most number one songs on Billboard’s infamous music charts. Outshining stars such as Mariah Carey (18) and The Beatles (20), Enrique made it to 21.
With support from new signing Esmée Denters and Alesha Dixon and, the tour promises to be a pop extravaganza. Dutchwoman Esmée was discovered by Justin Timberlake singing covers on Youtube, and became the first signing to JT’s Tennman records label, since being signed she spent the last year working with Justin on her debut album and has already performed at the Superbowl and appeared on Oprah Winfrey.
Tickets are priced £35 and £45 (subject to booking fee) and are available via www.theo2.co.uk or by calling 0844 856 0202.
Enrique’s new single Takin’ Back My Love featuring Ciara from his Greatest Hits album is out on 23 March.
