Ana Silvera performs at the Green Note for her Christmas concert.
New material will be performed in advance of the choir works at London’s Roundhouse in February.
With a excellently attended show at the Purcell Room, and a recent performance on BBC Radio 3, singer-songwriter Ana Silvera’s star is in the ascent. Ana has been collaborating with the cream of the crop on both sides of the Atlantic. Named as a ‘major talent in the offing’ (Music News), she has just been working with New York scene-leaders Brad Albetta (Martha Wainwright) and Maxim Moston (Antony and the Johnsons) and in London with Ray Singer (Peter Sarstedt, Joan Armatrading)
Ana’s songs are inspired by and draw upon her own eventful life, as well as referencing mythical and historical tales for her lively narratives. A London-born multi-instrumentalist, her sound has been likened to renowned artists including Rufus Wainwright and Regina Spektor, as well as older chanson artists such as Jacques Brel. She has just released her debut single Hometown and is currently touring and working on a new piece to be perfomred with the Roundhouse Choir in Febuary 2011.
