ESPAÑA ON FIRE!!! is back on Sunday 9th of January at Ronnie Scott’s bar, starting the year with good vibe and London’s finest flamenco music.
…Close your eyes and listen, music speaks itself. El duende does not only comes from Spain. You’ll know what I mean when you check Steve Homes “de Casas” on Sunday, widely regarded as one of the best and more original flamenco guitarist-composer in the U.K.
-STEVE HOMES “de CASAS”. His playing is rich with original ideas, his stunning technique freeing him to play with great expression and rhythmic clarity. In essence his compositions are derived from the traditional forms of flamenco but they use elements from many other kinds of music. Titles like ‘Giraffe’ and ‘Elevator’ reflect the expanding tradition of flamenco.
He has performed at some of the most iconic venues in the U.K as The Royal Festival Hall, The Barbican, The National Theatre, The Commonwealth Institute and The Glastonbury Festival as well as many TV and radio appearances.
He has produced several recordings, the most recent ‘The Silk Road’.
-HENRY DEAN: Accompaniment on guitar and percussion. He initially studied with Homes and afterwards in Andalucia, has since performed as well with singer Amaia Gabanxto and dancer Juliet Aster.
-Our JAM SESSION will follow the show , musicians and dancers,as always, be welcome.
