Theatre : My Husband is a Cuckold (Mi marido es un cornudo): 17-18 February

Famous Venezuelan actress Elba Escobar will give her internationally acclaimed one-woman show MI MARIDO ES UN CORNUDO (My Husband is a Cuckold) in London, on Thursday, 17 and Friday 18th February, 2011, at the Chelsea Theatre,7 World’s End Place, Kings Road, London, SW10 0DR, on behalf of CHAMOS In-aid of the children of Venezuela.

CHAMOS is a London-based British registered charity which aims to help needy children in the urban and rural areas of Venezuela.

Miss Escobar has already had excellent reviews of her recent performances of this play, written by Elizabeth Fuentes, directed by Enrique Salas and produced by Anayansi Carrasquel, of which we include an excerpt from the Washington Post from November 2nd, this year. “A firecracker of a one- woman show…hosted by Arlington’s Teatro de la Luna. Writer Elizabeth Fuentes’s Mi Marido es un Cornudo is a witty, cosmopolitan and refreshingly cheerful tale of unremorseful adultery that has found a knockout interpreter in celebrated Venezuelan actress Elba Escobar”. (Full review at http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/11/01/AR2010110105797.html).

Each 90 minute performance will start at 19.30 hs, and it will be in Spanish. Numbers are limited to 110 seats per show, so we advise you book early. There will be a short reception after each performance.

Please join us in what promises to be a highly enjoyable and entertaining evening.

I thoroughly enjoyed the performance and even though I didn’t understand everything Elba Escobar’s fantastic acting and facial expressions ensured that I understood more than I had thought I would. However, I was wondering if there was an English translation of this monologue available?

    Muchas gracias
