Alejandro Chaskielberg, 34, is Director of Photography graduated from Argentina’s National Film and Audiovisual Art Institute. He began his career as a photojournalist, working for local newspapers and magazines and has directed a number of documentaries and pieces for television.
In 2008 Chaskielberg was selected to participate in the All Roads photography program at National Geographic.
In 2009 he won the Talent Latent Award as part of the Scan 09 Festival in Spain and the BURN magazine Emerging Photographer Grant, suppotrted by Magnum Foundation.
He recently won the L’Iris D’Or Sony World Photography Awards Photographer of the Year 2011 for his photos of a community of islanders living in the delta of the Parana River, a few miles from his native Buenos Aires. www.chaskielberg.com/
