He visited Galapagos as part of the Darwin200 celebrations and, like most visitors, was enthralled by the nature and wonders of the Islands. David’s visual talk will take us on a Pacific journey, sharing some of his experiences and addressing some of the environmental and conservation issues he has observed along the way.

Galapagos Day is GCT’s annual event attended by our members, supporters, experts and anybody with an interest in wildlife and the natural environment. The evening starts at 6pm with a reception where guests are invited to speak to our friendly staff and experts over a glass of wine. There is also the opportunity to purchase Galapagos gifts from the various stalls located in the three receptions rooms and the last chance to purchase raffle tickets with a fabulous star prize – a 5 star trip for two to Galapagos worth £8,000 (thanks to our good friends atGalapagosIslands.com)!
At 7pm guests are asked to be seated in the theatre where they are warmly welcomed by our chairman and the special guest speaker introduced. David Shukman will be followed by an update on the work that GCT is helping to fund. During the lecture the winners of the raffle will be announced – good luck to all!
Galapagos Day Dinner
Following the lecture, you are invited to join us for dinner at the nearby Queen’s Tower room. The dinner will be attended by guest speakers and offers a great opportunity to speak to Galapagos experts in more detail.
Lecture tickets are £30 (£20 for students) and lecture and dinner tickets are £105. To purchase tickets, give a donation to the Trust, or buy raffle tickets, please click here or telephone the office (020 7629 5049).
We very much look forward to seeing you at what promises to be an informative and enjoyable night!
