DEBATE l “El costurero” 1st session : Women at work – November 5th

“El Costurero” is an initiative created by women from IRMO to share experiences while participating in a night filled with music, creativity and knowledge. At this event we will have with us:

– Laura Villegas, legal adviser at IRMO and social worker, who will talk about the effect on women of the double working day that implies their job as paid employees outside home as well as the work they do as main performers of household chores.

-María Irurita, Director of the MA in Social Entrepreunership in Goldsmith University has run several research project about migrant populations in UK. She will talk about women’s rights and history.

Victoria Moreno, current Coordinator of Families Project in IRMO, will be the debate’s moderator.

+ The band “THE TRAVELLING IRONS” will play their folk music from all over the world.

The funds raised will be used for the setting up of the Social Enterprise for Latin American Women of IRMO.
