Canning House and LSE are pleased to announce that the 2011 Canning Lecture will be delivered by Dr Juan Manuel Santos, President of the Republic of Colombia, during his official visit to the UK in November.
The Canning Lecture will be delivered in conjunction with the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, and will take place on Tuesday 22nd November at The Mansion House, London (5pm). An earlier lecture “Leading Colombia Towards Prosperity For All” takes place earlier on the same day (12pm) at London School of Economics.
The Canning Lecture is Canning House’s major calendar event. Traditionally delivered by a Latin American Head of State, 2010’s guest speaker was UK Foreign Secretary William Hague – the first time a UK Foreign Secretary has delivered the Lecture.
Juan Manuel Santos was elected as President of the Republic of Colombia in August 2010, and has previously occupied the posts of Minister of Foreign Trade, Minister of Finance, and Minister of National Defence.
The 2011 Canning House Lecture is priced at £40 per ticket.
Canning House Patrons benefit from 2 complimentary tickets per company, with further tickets priced at the standard rate of £40 per head. Tickets can be purchased direct from the Events section of our website.
