The documentary by Fredrik Gertten sheds new light on the global politics of food. Follow the breathtaking case of 12 Nicaraguan banana workers as they tackle the Dole food company in a lawsuit that questions the use of a banned pesticide known to cause sterility. As the banana plantation workers suffer and die at the hands of the greedy fruit corporation, Juan… Dominguez, a personal injury lawyer, defends the Nicaraguan peoples human rights in his attempt to force a major American corporation to take responsibility for their actions outside of the U.S. After the screening we’ll welcome a guest speaker from Banana Link answering questions and chairing a debate.
