Cinematters at Passing Clouds is a weekly Sunday film club, bringing you the films that MATTER. THIS SUNDAY 4th December, Cinematters Presents: “BATTLEFIELD“, A Film by Amancay Tapia, 78 mins. FREE ENTRY!
SYNOPSIS BY THE DIRECTOR
Campo de Batalla (Battlefield) a first feature film made on a shoe string budget in 2008. This film took a few years of Amancay Tapia of giving up on almost everything, cost me a few credit cards, three computers, got me into debt and it affected my health. But what I learned from making it both professionally and personally, has been so valuable that it was all worth it. So come along and have fun with these five women trapped in a beauty salon in La Paz during a social revolt of the coca leaf growers.
Campo de Batalla was in the cinemas in Bolivia from January to March 2011. It’s opening in Madrid at the end of the year and we won best foreign Film at the Portobello Film Festival as well as The Independent Spirit award at Triestre Latinamerican and Entrepreneurial filmmaker award at Orense International Film Festival.
