REVIEW | WOMEN OF LONDON : International women’s day 2012

This is an special photo and video review of last 2nd March in a fabulous global celebration of power of female recording artists from Latin america and worldwide based in London; a spotlight on an incredible new generation of women in music who are raising their voices in solidarity with women across the globe and a platform for female artists, Djs, promoters, business woman, poets, etc.. and guest speakers to share their work and experiences.

WARMI (Woman in the Native languages from the Andes Quechua and Aymara) is a new band integrated by female musicians. Featuring Andean/Latin American music plus original compositions. Warmi was born as a 5 piece band in October 2011, having their debut gig at The Latin Corner, in London, during an event dedicated to the Cultural Resistance of the Indigenous from the Abya Yala (America in their Native Language) also Bolivar Hall, Notting Hill arts, Rich Mix, Hootananny among other venues and festivals planned for the rest of the year. Warmi are Phaxsi Coca and Vicki Cespedes from Bolivia on Kena and Pan pipes; Paloma Palomino from Peru, on Charango, Guitar and Vocals and from Uk with indian roots Renu on Percussion. Including the new members from Colombia Veronica Arcila & Ingrid Rueda.

Special thanks to Hestia, Irmo, La divina comida, Mama con yuka, Helena carrizosa design, Venezuelan Embassy, Jorge Morales, Angela Molina,  Alberto & Yaruma, Kanti Qena, Morgan Szymanski,Deivid, Drew for the support on guitar and all the people who help and attend this event organized to congratulate all the female artists and women based in London for the great support and contribution to our community.  Also to the lovely  musicians who played that night and believe on this project that will be in our coming soon CD compilation.
