Thames Walk Charity Fundraiser for Latin American Children .6th May

At Children of the Andes we believe that every child has the right to a childhood in a safe and loving family environment, free from the threat of poverty, violence or exploitation. If you would like to help us make this a reality for some of the most vulnerable children in Colombia, why not join us on the TEN MILE SPONSORED WALK on Sunday 6th May? It is a day to relax and exercise; enjoying the stunning scenery of the river Thames, making friends and sharing a picnic with other COTA supporters. COTA’s walk is an excellent alternative activity for the bank holiday weekend!!!

Join us with family and friends for this perfect bank holiday activity and help us make a difference to the lives of Colombia’s most vulnerable children. All we ask is that you raise just £50 sponsorship – or more if you can!
THE WALK

The event will start at 11 am and will take at least four hours so, although there will be opportunities to stop and rest along the way; you need to be fairly active to complete and enjoy it.

We will follow COTA’s tried and tested route which takes you out of Richmond Station along the Thames and into Isabella Plantation, where we will have a picnic – a great opportunity to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the plantation just before heading home. You are welcome to bring your musical instruments and help us create a good atmosphere during the picnic.

The route covers some uneven terrain, which may be inconvenient for those with pushchairs or wheelchairs.

If you have difficulties walking, contact us in advance and we will send you information about a shorter route along the main avenues in Richmond Park. Alternatively, if you do not want to walk, feel free to meet us at the picnic site.

HOW TO REGISTER

If you would like to attend the walk, PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE APRIL 27th. Simply download a registration form (http://bit.ly/GS0ePF) fill it in and send it to our office with a registration fee of £5 per person.

After registering, we will send you a COTA t-shirt to wear on the day of the walk and an information pack containing full details and a map.
SPONSORPSHIP

As well as being a lovely day out, the Thames Walk is also a great opportunity to raise funds. This year, with your help, we hope to raise £10,500 for our work with vulnerable children in Colombia.

*** Please try to raise as much as you can. We suggest you aim for a minimum of £50***

If you raise over £75 you will be entered in a prize draw.
