The first time in London for seven years for the mighty Afro Cuban All Stars and their leader Juan de Marcos Gonzalez. Juan de Marcos has been a key figure in Cuban music for the last twenty five years first as a founder of Sierra Maestra and then in bringing together the artists who became Buena Vista Social Club and latterly introducing a raft of new Cuban artists as a label boss and impresario.
Dubbed “The Quincy Jones of Havana” this is a rare, rare visit for his big band the Afro-Cuban All Stars presenting the past, present and future of the Cuban sound.
