In 2011 we injected your late summer Sunday evenings with sunshine from Cuba’s far flung shores. It proved so popular that this year we are looking to the wonders of Cuba again.
Starting on Sunday 19 August, Cuba’s vibrant colours and flavours will permeate through The OXO Tower Brasserie. Cuban musical trio ‘The Sugar Kings’ are back with a bang, and once again we have teamed up with Havana Club to offer top dollar Mojitos!
Direct from Cuba, ‘The Sugar Kings’ present earthy rhythms and old world vocal harmony from the salons of Havana to the Cuban countryside. With TV credits such as BBC’s 1950s Drama hit ‘The Hour’ starring Dominic West, this authentic Cuban outfit has been entertaining Londoners in venues such as Ronnie Scotts, The Royal Albert Hall, 606 Jazz club, and the National Theatre.
OXO Brasserie Head Chef, Deon Jansen, has drawn influence from Cuban cuisine to create some exotic dishes. The South Coast squid salad with smoked chill corn salsa tastes like sunshine, while the charcoal grilled rare breed pork fillet with chorizo saffron mash and spinach mojo relish will make you feel like dancing. On all of the Sunday evenings listed below, any guests who order one of our Cuban inspired dishes will receive a complimentary Havana Club mojito.
Havana Club and Cuba go back a long way. The ‘Maestros Roneros’ (master rum-makers) are the driving force behind its creation.
“The rum doesn’t come from a magical combination. It is a cultural legacy, passed on from Maestro Ronero to Maestro Ronero, from heart to heart, from Cuban to Cuban.” Don José Navarro, Havana Club’s Primer Maestro Ronero.
The Havana Club Cuban nights are taking place in the Brasserie on the following dates:

Sunday 23 September
