With the program “Stories from Ecuador”, presented by the Embassy and the Consulate of Ecuador in London, we try to bring the UK audience a little closer to Supporters the Ecuador of today: a country that is living through the excitement of what is known as the “Citizen’s Revolution”.
These films reflect the efforts of Ecuador in building and defending a participatory democracy, in tenaciously seeking to pay its debt to the victims of human rights abuses of the past and in fulfilling the dreams of the most excluded.
This program is a taster of some of the most recent Ecuadorian documentaries that in the last few years have experienced something of a “boom”, thanks to the talent and entrepreneurship of a new generation of filmmakers, as
well as growing support for film production and distribution from the government. The international prizes won by these films are a reflection of the current richness of Ecuadorian documentary production.
We are proud to be able to present these films here in London for the first time and hope that you find them interesting, moving, surprising and, are left wanting to see more.
Do not miss it and welcome to the country that “loves life”.
